Fr. Edward Mathias-Jones SSC

 

Fr. Edward was born and raised in Abergwili, Carmarthenshire. 

 

He studied Theology and Church History at  St. David’s University College, Lampeter.

Following his time in Lampeter, Fr. Edward worked for the Mission to Seafarers in Rotterdam.  On returning to Wales, he entered St. Michael’s College, Llandaff where he undertook a Bachelor of Divinity and a Diploma in Practical Theology.

 

Fr. Edward was ordained Deacon in 1997, in All Saints, Ammanford and commenced a curacy in Llanelli.  He was ordained priest in 1998 in St. Mary’s Priory Church, Abergavenny by Bishop David Thomas, Provincial Assistant Bishop.  In 1998 Fr. Edward was also admitted to SSC.

 

In 2000, Fr. Edward moved to Milford Haven where he served a second curacy in the parish of St. Katherine & St. Peter.

 

Fr. Edward was inducted as Vicar of S. Stephen’s on 26 April 2004.
